BURRITO WISDOM – a vegetarian burrito quest www.burritowisdom.com

I walked two miles in the rain only to realize that there is nothing vegetarian on the menu. Goat, beef or pork. Seeing as I was ravenous and had no back up plan, I talked the waitress into making me a bean and rice burrito (there is no cheese or avocado in the building). A beautiful plate arrived.

The restaurant has table service, chips & salsa with plenty of charm and charisma. My veggie burrito consisted of a pile of lettuce, tomato and cilantro with a giant refried beans (lard) and rice burrito. I didn’t measure it, but it was bigger than average.

The only reason a vegetarian should visit this restaurant is with the company of a carnivore.

Value: $3.79 after tax for my bean and rice burrito, I left $5 with tip.

I’m loving this blog, such a good idea. My suggestion? Spend a long weekend in SF, and do a round-up of all the famous burrito places in the Mission District. There’s a great one right on 16th where mariachi bands stroll from table to table on the weekends. So good, so cheap. One other suggestion: What do you think about having a separate section just for breakfast burritos?

Planning a junket to SF in the near future… there will be a section for breakfast burritos soon.
